Who We Are

The College of Arts and Letters assembled the COAL Com Team to centralize promotional efforts and increase visibility of the college, as well as its departments and programs. We leverage the expertise of both staff and students in writing and editing, graphic design, photography, videography and more.

Meet the team

Lucie Amberg 

Lucie Amberg coordinates communications for COAL, promoting programs, initiatives and events through websites, blogs, videos, social media and traditional publications. She also teaches courses on new media theory and production, interactive web design and multimedia journalism in the department of media, journalism and film and is currently completing her Master of Professional Studies with an emphasis in writing and producing for new media.

Angela Barker

Angela Barker assists with team management and leads web development, e-blast and video production projects. Her office is located in the dean's office in Craig Hall. She has worked as a technology support specialist for COAL since August 1999. She has a bachelor's degree in media production from Missouri State.

Student team members 

Ashley Breuer is a graphic design and illustration dual major. Her role in the COAL Com Team includes designing posters, advertisements and other marketing images. She is passionate about animals, drawing and design and is excited to push her creativity to a professional level with the help of the COAL Com Team.

Jackie Crawford is a digital film production major. Her role includes writing, filming, editing, and producing promotional videos as well as helping LiveStream COAL events. She is passionate about Netflix, Mindy Kaling, and gummy worms. She is looking forward to learning about how to better interview film subjects and how to successfully work a camera without dropping it. She also enjoys taking Buzzfeed quizzes, watching beauty YouTubers, and trying new drinks at Starbucks. 

Zack Neuman is a photography major. His role includes documenting events and archiving photographs from recent years. He is passionate about film and all things movie related. He is looking forward to learning how to truly capture the heart of an occasion through a lens and keep exploring the potentials of the photographic medium. He also enjoys potatoes. 

Miranda Roller is a photography and journalism major. She has worked with COAL for almost two years. Her responsibilities include attending events, contacting event coordinators for necessary information when needed, and photographing important College of Arts and Letters events. Miranda's goals for the COAL Com Team include branching out her skills in blogging and promotional video editing and learning necessary skills in public relations.
