Project Odyssey represents a journey of discovery involving all the disciplines in the College of Arts and Letters. In September 2005, this intellectual quest began with the College’s offering a series of events—panel discussions, demonstrations, lectures—that explored how the diverse disciplines in the College approach contemporary issues to discover the intersections that connect them.

Project Odyssey is dedicated to providing a forum for inter-disciplinary investigations of topics to enrich the public good. The exploration of one idea from the perspective of several departments motivates the project. Its goals include:

• • The inter-disciplinary expansion of conversation about issues of public importance
• • The interrogation of contemporary ideas leading to commitment to responsible citizenship
• • The celebration of the worth of the arts in promoting the public good
